The Kingdom Of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.” Matthew 13:31-32 ESV
Two thousand years ago, a tiny handful of women changed the world. When Paul received a vision calling him to Europe, he ended up at Philippi. There he found no synagogue, no body of believers. On the Sabbath he went to the river where a group of women had gathered with a prominent businesswoman named Lydia. She invited Paul to her home so she and the others could hear the gospel. From that tiny handful of women, the church in Philippi was born. (Acts 16:11-15)
The prophet Zechariah asks, “Who despises the day of small things?” (Zechariah 4:10). What opportunity have you ignored or missed or refused to take because it seemed small or insignificant? Remember the Philippian church. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says “don’t despise small things.”
