“A man prayed, and at first he thought that prayer was talking. But he became more and more quiet until in the end he realized that prayer was listening.” Soren Kierkegaard (1813 – 1855)
When you talk you repeat what you already know, but if you listen you often learn something new. Prayer is a two way street. We must resist becoming so fixated on what we want to say, that we fail to quiet ourselves and allow space for God to speak.
