It was the Lord’s Day, and I was worshiping in the Spirit. Suddenly, I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet blast. It said, “Write in a book everything you see, and send it to the seven churches in the cities of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis,Philadelphia, and Laodicea.” Revelation 1:10-11 NLT
Are you where you should be this Sabbath?
In the first chapter of the New Testament book of Revelation, John describes exactly his circumstance and the specific instruction given to him. It is a moment of pause and magnificence to think that he was honoring God on the early Church’s Lord’s Day – very much consistent with the ancient Jewish tradition of Sabbath. John was exactly where he was supposed to be that day to receive his call.
It is unlikely the readers or authors of this blog will ever be called to such a monumental service as John. But make no mistake, each of is called to worship, honor and serve our heavenly Father. With that in mind, an important place to start (like John) is worshipping in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day. When we are where we should be, and when our eyes, ears and heart are open to receive our personal call, God will use us to advance His Kingdom.
So we pray that you are where you should be this Sabbath.
Shabbat shalom.
