Equipped

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. Ephesians 4:11–12

What God commands you and me to do, He equips us for. It’s that simple. He’s given us the gifts that are necessary to follow Him in obedience. Maybe you can’t, but He can. You’re equipped by God’s Spirit.

If you want to discover your spiritual gifts, start obeying God. And if you lack any gifts, God will bring people alongside you who have the gifts you don’t. That’s the body of Christ, each person obeying his or her call, exercising the particular gifts the Spirit has given. Working together, you’ll accomplish the task to the glory of God.

It’s time to get to work.
